This song was written as a reflection on the time of life that led Crane to move from the East Coast to the West Coast initially while projecting on this next move from the dusty Southwest back to the Northeast where he was born & raised.

Another oldie to us, but hopefully new to you! Originally written in 2015 and worked out on stage from 2016-2019, this song fits the mold for us as timeless. When we can come back to a track over 7 years later, and still find the freshness in it, it makes the cut.

In feudal Japan, a rōnin, was a type of samurai with no lord or master. A samurai becomes a rōnin upon the death of his master, or after the loss of his master's favor or legal privilege. In modern Japanese usage, usually the term is used to describe a salaryman who is unemployed or a secondary school graduate who has not yet been admitted to university.

This track is part history, part philosophy, part autobiographical, and 100% dope.

The word rōnin is usually translated to 'drifter' or 'wanderer'; however, per kanji, rō (浪) means "wave" (as in body of water) or "unrestrained", while nin (人) means "man" or "person". It is an idiomatic expression for 'vagrant' or 'wandering man', someone who finds the way without belonging to one place.
